A little bit about me....

Hi, I’m Jen (or Jennie - whichever you prefer).

I’ve lived in Harford County, Maryland my entire life. I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, an ridiculous love for reality TV, and I’m happiest when I’m with my son.

My journey with horses started when I was 10, after my mom signed me up for my first riding lesson. I was hooked. Eventing became my passion, and horses became my constant - my grounding force through every season of life.

Though I’ve worked in the same office job for over 20 years, I always knew it wasn’t where my heart was. When I was 19, my parents bought a horse farm with the hope that I could turn it into something meaningful. That dream became JMK Rolling Acres - a space where I taught beginner lessons, rehomed horses, and ran a boarding business, all while keeping my full-time job.

In 2012, I became a mom. Life shifted. The pressure of balancing motherhood, marriage, farm life, and work became overwhelming. I eventually let go of the boarding and teaching side of the business, and we leased the farm to my very first riding instructor - who would later introduce me to the deep, healing work of Equine Gestalt.

In 2018, after 13 years of marriage, I made the difficult decision to ask for a divorce. I later learned of my ex-husband’s infidelity-just weeks before losing my dad, one of the most important people in my life. In 2023, my mom was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease and moved in with my son and me. I became her caregiver.

Grief, heartbreak, and emotional exhaustion brought me to one of the lowest points in my life. But one thing remained steady-my first riding instructor, now a dear friend, who gently encouraged me to look into the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®.

In 2024, I took the leap. That decision changed everything.

Through this work, I’ve learned to trust myself again. I’ve let go of trying to control what I can’t. I’ve discovered that being on my own doesn’t mean I’m alone. I’ve softened and strengthened all at once.

Now, as a certified Gestaltist, I walk alongside others through their own pain, breakthroughs, and growth. I don’t offer quick fixes - I offer presence, partnership, and a place to be seen without judgment. Because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to carry grief, to feel stuck, to crave something more.
